IHK-certified training company

CIBORIUS is approved by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce as a training company and trains its own new staff.

An IHK-certified training company is a company approved by the responsible German Chamber of Industry and Commerce to deliver in-company vocational training. The approval is not a formality: the chamber examines whether the company may train at all, and whether the people doing the training are suitable for it.

What the chamber checks

  • Professional suitability of the trainers – relevant qualification and work experience, normally evidenced by the trainer aptitude examination under the German Trainer Aptitude Regulation (AEVO)
  • Personal suitability – anyone who repeatedly breaches the Vocational Training Act, or who has been convicted of certain offences, may not train
  • Suitability of the training site – equipment, workstations and company size have to match the occupation being taught
  • Ratio of qualified staff to trainees – so that training is genuinely supervised

The legal basis is the German Vocational Training Act (BBiG). The chamber supervises the training continuously, keeps the register of training relationships and administers the interim and final examinations.

Why this matters in the security industry

The quality of a security service is decided by the people who deliver it. The industry works with high staff turnover and a legally defined minimum level of qualification – the instruction or competence examination under § 34a of the German Trade Regulation Act. A company that trains its own staff has not stopped at that minimum: it builds qualification in house instead of only buying it in.

For clients, that is an indicator of stability in the workforce – and therefore of consistent quality on site.
