CIBORIUS holds an EcoVadis silver medal and is therefore among the top 15 per cent of rated companies (as of July 2025).
EcoVadis is an internationally used rating of the sustainability of companies and their supply chains. Unlike a standard, EcoVadis does not prescribe requirements: it rates the level actually reached on the basis of submitted evidence. The result is a score from 0 to 100 and, above a certain threshold, a medal.
Nationwide · EcoVadis silver · Top 15 per cent
The four areas rated
- Environment – energy consumption, emissions, waste, use of resources
- Labour and human rights – occupational safety, working conditions, qualification, equal treatment
- Ethics – prevention of corruption, competitive conduct, handling of data
- Sustainable procurement – what requirements a company places on its own suppliers
The medals
EcoVadis awards bronze, silver, gold and platinum. The classification is relative: it describes how a company performs compared with all other rated companies. Silver corresponds to the top 15 per cent. A rating is valid for a limited period and has to be renewed regularly.
Why clients ask for it
Under the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) and the European sustainability reporting directive (CSRD), companies must be able to document the environmental and social standards their service providers work to. A security provider is one such service provider – often with a large workforce on shift duty. An EcoVadis rating is therefore common evidence in tenders, because it comes from an independent body and is comparable across companies.
